By Lisa; Last Saturday evening, The Brass on
Baltimore was the site for the wedding nuptials and reception for Bethany
Brunker and Michael Rounds. Millie's Event Designs was the chosen “Day of Coordinator”
to bring it all together; www.millieseventdesigns.com
Saturday’s ceremony was performed by the bride’s
uncle, Reverend Matt Whitacre, in the spacious first floor meeting room of the
former Kansas City Club. The guests then
left this beautiful 1920's iconic venue to go to The Brass on Baltimore; www.thebrassonbaltimore.com rooftop dining room for the reception that immediately followed the ceremony.
While the family and the bridal party were downstairs taking memorable photos,
their guests was treated to cocktails and an antipasto spread along with a view
of the Kansas City skyline as the sun was beginning set.
As the cocktail reception came to a close, each
guest was asked to take their seats as they waited for the introduction of the
bridal party and the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Michael Rounds. Once the bride
and groom were introduced, they made their way to the dance floor to have their
first dance as husband and wife. The newlyweds then joined their bridal party
at the head table. The DJ then announced the buffet was now open
beginning with the head table, then family and then guest tables one at a time.
The Italian menu served was a chopped salad tossed with creamy Italian
dressing, two entree's; chicken spiedini topped with Amogio (olive oil, lemon,
garlic and Italian herbs) and baked lasagna topped with your choice between
their two famous homemade sauces; marinara and alfredo. The authentic Italian
cuisine was catered by Kansas City's own Garozzo's Catering; www.garozzos.com.
When the newlyweds had finished their meal, they
made their way over to the dessert table where they cut their beautiful three
tier wedding cake and had their traditional Champagne toasts. The guests then
directed their attention towards the dance floor as the bride's father, Don
Brunker spoke from the heart to his daughter Bethany, now Mrs. Michael Rounds.
After he had finished there wasn't a dry eye in the room. Next, traditional
speeches were given by the best man and the maid of honor. The evening then
continued as all the single ladies gathered on the dance floor to catch the
bride's bouquet. Once the ladies had exited the dance floor, it was now time
for the garter toss to all the single men. The young man who caught the garter
with assistance from dad was smiling from ear to ear. It was now time to open
the dance floor to all the guests.
To end the special evening, the couple were treated to a final send off
by their immediate family and close friends who were blowing bubbles as the
couple exited the venue and stepped into their chauffeured limousine to drive
off into the starry Kansas City night.
