While the wedding party was taking pictures, the guests made their way over to the Hilton President Hotel for a lovely cocktail hour on the Mezzanine. As the cocktail reception was coming to a close the bridal party rejoined the guests precisely as planned and enjoyed one last drink with them before heading upstairs to the Grand Ballroom.

The bride and groom welcomed each guest as they stood at their head table. The bride then gave the blessing prior to the salads being served. The first course was a Blue Salad (mixed greens with blueberries, apple and blue cheese crumbles) with a choice between Blueberry Lavender Vinaigrette or Champagne Honey Vinaigrette dressing. The second course was an entree of Herb crusted tenderloin with Fresh herbs served with Red Wine Reduction, French green beans with caramelized shallots and roasted garlic upon gold whipped potatoes. A grand four-tiered Wedding Cake;www.mclainskc.com was served for desert along with a groom’s cake picturing the James Naismith Court at Kansas University.
Right on cue, after the last table was served, it was now time for the ceremonial toasts. The Father of the bride - Rick Donahue began the ritual, followed by the Maid of honor - Sarah Donahue and the Best man - Spencer Glenn. The toasts were immediately followed by Allie and Tucker cutting the wedding cake and traditional champagne toast.
